We Lost a Pioneer in Healthcare Value Analysis & Supply Chain Management
This post is to share the unfortunate news of the passing of my father, Robert T. Yokl. ?To those of you who knew my father personally or by his writings, teachings and our podcast, you know how much he enjoyed giving back to our industry with his over 2,000 articles in just about all the major publications in his 6-decades in our industry.? One of his proudest moments was being inducted into the Healthcare Supply Chain Hall of Fame Bellwether League in 2018. ?My father has done so many things in his Healthcare Supply Chain Career along with his days as a Purchasing/Materials Director to his Consulting/Solution provider days.? He was a pioneer in the Value Analysis and Clinical Supply Chain Utilization disciplines well before they became mainstream.? ??He gave back in other ways such as his 52 years of volunteerism as a Lion (Lions International), Club President, Philadelphia Area Diabetes Foundation Chairman and Melvin Jones Fellow.? He cared about people, he cared about his family, and he cared about his clients and their bottom lines.?
The company my father started in 1987, and we worked together building up over the years, is still going strong today with the advanced concepts of value analysis, utilization management and savings validation software/solutions as he envisioned with training, software and straightforward best practices.?? For the last 32-years I have been lucky to have had the best mentor, coach and leader to talk to, argue sometimes (only a father and son can do this) but inevitably we always made things work in new and innovative ways that I will cherish.?
You can rest assured I will carry on his legacy moving forward as he has envisioned as there are much more savings for healthcare organizations to achieve.? What I can leave this post with is a few of his mantras that he lived by that are sacred with our team.
