Canada Today - In The light of the Prime Minister's press conference in New Brunswick we reflect on Justin Trudeau remarks announcing a major vaccine campaign milestone for Canada, on vaccination, and the COVID-19 situation in Canada. ''My friends, it’s great to be back here in New Brunswick. And what better place to spend some time than at the Moncton Coliseum. Because if there’s any example of New Brunswickers’ warmth and sense of community, it’s here at the vaccine clinic today.'' said, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
''I want to thank all the incredible health workers who stepped up to make sure that Canadians here in New Brunswick and across the country are kept safe; ''
July 27, 2021, at the press conference in New Brunswick, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau started his speech with the audience greetings and with the words of thankfulness to minister, Dominic LeBlanc, to MP for Moncton – Ginette Petitpas Taylor, and to the whole team in this province who work side by side from the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude to all leaders who gathered together here at Moncton Coliseum for the announcement and addressed a heartwarming message to the clinic staff and volunteers for their remarkable job:
''Some of whom I met a few moments ago – are doing a remarkable job. They got up to around 3,000 doses a day administered during peak moments which is incredible.''
With the remarkable work of the clinic staff and volunteers, so many Canadians can worry less, and get more optimistic and active for a healthy recovery for everyone from the pandemic. There aren't doubts, we all want to get back to normal as quickly as possible, and vaccination is the only possible way to get through this. The sooner we all get fully vaccinated, the faster we can return to our normal lives and do things we like and enjoy doing together with our friends, relatives, and families.
Prime Minister had some conversations at Coliseum with people who came for the vaccine shots: ''We’re seeing people continue to come in – lots of people for second doses, but still people are stepping up on first doses as well. '' We can say confidently that today more and more Canadians understand that vaccines are good for them and choose safety and protection for themselves and for who they are or can get in communicative contact.
'' And we know that getting vaccinated is the way Canada gets through this. We've worked around the clock to secure as many doses as possible. And on that front, today, I have some really great news to share. '' said, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Canada reaches major vaccine campaign milestone and now has enough COVID-19 vaccines delivered to fully vaccinate everyone who’s eligible for a shot;
Let's take a look back at the history of the COVID-19 pandemic. We remember how it started, we remember that the first correct and necessary decision that the Government of Canada had made was a commitment to keep Canadians safe. At the highest pandemic hit we used to stay at home, Canadian borders became closed, and travel measures were introduced. We remember there was anxiety in the air, as well as in the people's minds. We had questioned how to go through it and how to survive against it. From the beginning, we had to stay strong against the spread of skepticism regarding vaccines' development, against timely vaccines' delivery, and their safety and effectiveness. However, let's see where we are today and how far we’ve come.

To win this challenge, the government of Canada used to work as a team together during all of this unprecedented difficult time. And due to the fact, that pandemic isn't over, the government of Canada is going to continue to do everything necessary to keep Canadians safe. Today, July 27, 2021, we can say proudly that with its most recent shipment, Canada now has enough COVID-19 vaccines to fully vaccinate all eligible for the shot Canadians.
''Canada now has enough COVID-19 vaccines delivered to fully vaccinate everyone who’s eligible for a shot. That works out to over 66 million doses in total that we’ve received in Canada.'' - said, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
We have achieved our commitment and promise two months ahead of the original September goal. By this time 80% of Canadians have received the first dose of vaccine, and over 63% of eligible persons, are fully vaccinated. However, to stop the virus from spreading and help children and students return in fall back to school safely, we need more Canadians fully vaccinated. Let's say it that this is responsibility of everyone.
''Back in the winter, I made a promise that we would have enough vaccines for all eligible Canadians by the end of September. '' - said, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the conference.
And in the conclusion of the speech and announcement Justin Trudeau made one more appeal on Canadians ''who still didn't receive a vaccine against COVID-19 to roll up their sleeves, saying that the vast majority of cases of the disease occur in people who aren't fully vaccinated.'' Full vaccination significantly enhances our immune system and makes it stronger against the virus and its variants - For instance and the fact - only 0.5 per cent of new COVID-19 cases are in fully vaccinated people. ''Unvaccinated people are at the highest risk right now.'' Therefore, ''with enough doses for everyone there’s no more excuses to not get your shot.''
''Canada has come through this pandemic better than almost any other country in the world. And it’s because we’ve been there for each other.''
Canadians work together to achieve great things done. And on a closing note, I am going to share that I also received my second dose of vaccine last Saturday, two days before this significant announcement. The clinic staff worked as well-organized and supportive team. Today, I still wear a mask for my better protection and protection for others. We need more Canadians to get fully vaccinated to stop COVID -19. Do your part and get fully vaccinated. Do this moment bright - together we can beat and stop the virus.?
