The end of January still mean promises and resolutions to stick with, but what if the goal is to just keep going?
The new start, new vows and goals are not generally my thing. All too often they fizzle out by February.
I used to think I talk a lot, post a lot, but didn’t do a lot. Now, I’m less critical of myself and realise that supporting and sharing, and the momentum and value that brings, is a good thing to do. Something I will continue to do, be that on a local level, Dorset level or even this new “ Great South West ” level.
Consistency is, well, consistently mentioned when it comes to content creation, personal branding and the communication we create and share.
What I’ve learned is that you have to work at it to begin with and then you make it an automatic part of what you do.

People will then know you for what you are about, which can be many things. Let me thank John Sutcliffe CMgr FCMI , who without prompting at the Great South West launch event at the House of Lords, offered his help to take a photo of me with the Government Minister in the background as he instinctively knew I would post about it on social media.
I am not creative, nor a content creator in the vein of others who focus on it, but I want to continue to produce more videos. Doing it will make you better at your craft.
When it’s for you and not for making a living, it can be fun and everyone cuts you more leeway. From going live on Instagram with Dorset wine tastings last year, I hope to create some Dorset foodie weekend breaks to share. Still on message, right?
I get recognised a lot more these days. More people and organisations reach out asking me to join in and maybe, just maybe, those words can turn in action and results.
Whilst in part all this is more of the same, but it is more of the same but in an upward trajectory.
We don’t need to make grand gestures and treat what we do as a wish list of empty promises. It is better to look forward and make things happen than it is to think there has to be a reward waiting for us at the end.

2 年Thank you for the reference Gordon. Supporting others and looking for others to work with is not a weakness it is a strength. Dorset has a great collaborative community. Far better to ask "what can I do for you?" than turn a blind eye.
