WEDNESDAY
We had an incredibly busy day on Wednesday, the day for our flagship events:
- The afternoon was our blockbuster HESI global event. In front of a packed room of a few hundred people, we heard from panelists about higher ed priorities for sustainability.
- More than 150 people participated in our game, the Quiz by #sulitest – congratulations to Team 3 for achieving the highest scores in the room (you know who you are!)
- We launched the SDG Accord, with 1045 signatories across 85 countries. Click below to see the full report
- We also released the Global Climate Letter, launched by UNEP, Second Nature and EAUC
The full conference is available on the UN WEB TV below
- The International Green Gown Awards were held immediately afterwards. It was amazing to see all the great work being done by universities across the world. Thanks to all who submitted applications and congratulations to all of our finalists! A complete list of all applications and videos of our finalists is available on the website below.
THURSDAY
No rest for us yet, though: the HESI Steering Group held a Working Session on Thursday, to think through the vision for HESI and key priorities, acknowledging the urgency for action while embracing the emergent approach necessary to address such a complex issue. As the sun sets on our fourth day, we are tired but excited to keep the momentum going on collaboration towards achievement of the SDGs and starting to think beyond 2030. Great things to come, looking forward to further collaborations and new partnerships. Watch this space!
A special Thanks to Sam Barratt (from UN Environment) for curently chairing HESI, Luisa Karst (from UNDESA) who managed to set up the special event at the HLPF, Liz Thompson (Permanent Representative of Barbados) who launched the HESI at Rio +20 and who open ourHESI special event, Fiona Goodwin (from EAUC) who coordinates the SDG accord and the Green Gown Award, Katleen NG (from Mc Gill) who help us to make the steering committe really efficient and Aurelien Decamps (from Kedge) as my "partner in crime" :). And of course thanks to all of the contributors who make this happen...
Looking forward to the HLPF 2020 !

5 年Well done JC and everyone. I watched the HESI event through the live stream, heartening to see the growing group of old and new partners joining in! And great of course that Sulitest is part of the new UN SDG:Learn platform!
