Are We Humanely Conscious, Totally Free Yet? (Humans, Entropy & Freedom)

According to the scientific laws of thermodynamics, it might be said that our Universe is in a constant struggle against the forces of entropy. For millennia, our planet has been moving in a state of gradual decline, always heading into more chaos and disorder.?Similarly, I believe human beings are constantly struggling with entropy as well. Just look around these days. As a species, we are in a constant battle against forces that attempt to inhibit higher states of human consciousness, limit critical thinking and intuition, and even subvert our own free will. I believe higher consciousness is the ultimate freedom for human beings. In fact, it may be the human desire to express ourselves in more meaningful, authentic ways that drives us forward, which works to thwart entropy.
Let’s look at an aspect of consciousness itself. It could be stated that a living organism’s desire to change, to make things better, to improve, is what drives the evolution of all living things. Surely, these changes could be either positive or negative; however, this desire implies intent which implies consciousness, to a greater or lesser extent, all living things possess. We can see this as part of an evolutionary process. From bacteria trying to overcome antibiotics, to competing cheetahs trying to outrun antelopes, and to human beings desiring freedom and unobstructed (free) creative thought, which brings about that freedom.
True freedom reduces fear and, conversely, fear reduces our freedom, which causes a level of pain. The ingredient necessary to overcome our pain, to drive human lifeforce itself, is hope. When we lose hope, we lose everything. When we judge others, we are relinquishing our hope, we are disrespecting the creator, we are disempowering our own human consciousness.?We weren’t put here to judge or to exercise power and control over the lives of others. We were put here to see our own part in the context of a greater, universal humanity.

So, let us be conscious, be totally human (ourselves), and think freely. It is the only way we can move forward, find authentic freedom, survive as a species. Anything less, would be inhumane.

3 年John Thanks for the short but impactful article. Great word 'entropy'. Had to look it up but your writing gave good clues as to its overall meaning. I agree that we need to be aware of our surroundings and ensure that we don't become the cork in the river floating along in ignorant bliss avoiding the work of thinking for ourselves.
