WE HIRED AGAIN. WE CAN'T STOP
Welcome back to where we fill you in on the latest topics at The Attention Seeker (ATTN).
This newsletter is coming from Ashley Short, the ATTN Internal Brand Exec.
This week, we are discussing OUR NEW TEAM MEMBERS!
Let's meet them!

First up - Meet Charlotte
Hi, I'm Charlotte, TAS's new copywriter. I joined the team because I had been freelancing for a while and missed being part of a team. There's just something about working alongside super-talented people that makes you push yourself and keep growing.
As far as how I learned to write--I did a short copywriting course, but I guess you could say I've always been a writer. Even before I could write, my mum would record the stories I told on a yellow legal pad. So, it's been just a lifelong passion of mine. I love finding creative ways to say things, haha.
Outside of writing, I'm passionate about my two sassy little girls. I also love being outdoors, going places I've never been, and travelling.

Meet Leigh
Sure thing! I'm Leigh obv, I'm the new Videographer and Video Editor.
I hope I am able to contribute my animation skills to the rest of the team. I've got a lot to learn, but the team has made me feel right at home since I have been here.
I learned how to edit at University when I did motion design during my graphic design bachelor's.
I love visual communication and art that makes people feel something they can't describe.
My passion is in design, and I want to one day open my own print store.

Meet Carter
Now, before we hear from Carter, Carter is unique from the other team members.
Carter is currently an intern here with us at TAS. We currently have 4 interns and another one starting next week.

However, Carter is currently our only full-time intern!
All other current interns come in 1-2 days a week.
Carter is Stanley's relative that we have taken in to teach and learn the TAS ways.
Lets hear from Carter!
Carter
YO. This is Carter. To be honest, I don't even know if I have a role right now, like I'm an intern, but for what exactly, I don't know.
Am I a hot drink maker, an editor, a videographer, this place's b*$ch? I guess you could say I'm all, and to be honest, I wouldn't have it any other way.
From Day 1 to now, only 3 weeks in, I've just been thrown into a whole bunch of sh*t and I feel like it's the best thing that could have happened.
I haven't had any time to just sit, overthink or get ahead of myself I just got shit done and have had fun doing it, so whatever role I do eventually fall into, anything will do.
From just the past 2 weeks alone, I have experienced and learnt so much, but the biggest thing I've learnt and experienced is that the people here at TAS are so fucking cool.
Everybody is so nice and welcoming, but they know when to turn it off and get shit done.
Nobody is ever trying to out do one another; everybody here want's to win, just like everybody else in the world, but these guys want to win together.
That's really the coolest thing I've had the chance to experience.
I started this just to get out of school for a little bit, but now only three weeks in I don't know why I would ever leave, I could be an intern forever and never get paid it wouldn't matter, this is a place I could not leave.

Our In-House Podcast - Stansplaining
Edna Swart is a small business owner who started a NZ swimwear label and recently has turned it into a skin brand called Edni Body.
She grew up struggling with acne and her skin, so she wanted to create something to make women feel more confident in their skin.
She was already using TikTok and realised that by her being herself on her brand account, it worked far better than just posting advertising like a typical business would.
Since then, she has had great success and now struggles to find a way to extend her business and audience into Australia. Edna and Stan talk about potential ways this could be done.

1 年“You have to empower and trust your leadership to take over” - these are the magic words I wish every employer would say! Having a confident and competent leadership team can be a real game changer when retaining talent in a growth surge. It all comes down to the investment in them as a leader and filling up their toolkit to allow them to succeed. Not everyone see’s leaders this way so credit to you Stanley Henry

1 年I love how transparent you are. There is nothing in the information you share which would pose as a competitive risk. So why not! It certainly helps everyone understand the reality of running a business. The pressures and pace at which a company must operate. I’ve always thought it important to share with staff (“our monthly burn rate is $1.5m”). That way everyone understood how deeply important each day was. But to make it public is really empowering and helpful for so many more people.
