We have so much to celebrate this month!

Greetings!! We have so much to celebrate this month!

?The website is getting periodic updates – we have a new Story of the Month and Member in the Spotlight and the News Feed on the home page keeps ticking over too. We only added a hit counter 10 days ago and we’re almost at 1257 hits already (and they’re not all created by the Workforce team updating and adding to the site!)

?We have 14 members to congratulate this month as they start to implement three important projects for FEAST . Congratulations to? Pretigaya Haran,?N.Ambujavalli, Richa Sinha,?Nandita Sankaran and?K.R.Vidhyaa for coming together and creating such an impressive proposal for our inaugural KIDS OLIO (28 June).?Taking inspiration from the month itself (Juno was the Roman goddess of youth) and a plethora of World Days celebrated during June, the team has clearly given a lot of thought to their proposal and we look forward to their session!

?Both our Mentorship programmes kick off in May too with nine mentees and six mentors.

  • Our puppetry mentor is Priscilla Howe who ran a wonderful webinar for us on the topic last year and was an endearing participant in the FEST’s Puppet Palooza. She’ll be mentoring Nancy Leppard from Singapore, Shereen Saif from Dubai?Nandita Sankaran from India,?and Lamya Tawfik from Dubai over the next five months, and members can look forward to a final presentation in October.
  • The Adult Performance Storytelling Mentorship returns with five new mentees (and their mentors). Mette Kuhlen from Denmark (Roger Jenkins), Nidhi Gujral from India, (Mabel Lee), Susie Miller from Ireland (Jeeva Raghunath),?Swetha Prakash from the UK (Anna Fancett), and Stefania Ganzini from Italy (Kiran Shah). The programme starts this month and will culminate in a showcase featuring all five mentees during our inaugural Learning Festival in September.

You should expect to see lots of posts in your blogs from our members gallivanting along the Lycian Way on our first-ever STORYTELLING TOUR (8 – 15 May)?A huge thank you to Cem – no wonder he’s our Member in the Spotlight – for conceiving and master-minding this!. Hopefully, we’ll have some stories to share too from the ruins of the fabulous amphitheaters in Myra, Olympus, Xanthus,?and Patara. . . latest news is that the Turkish Tourism Board has agreed to film us along the way with a view to creating a 3-5 video to upload on their own & youtube channel – they expect a minimum of 1 MILLION VIEWS, which will boost FEAST’s profile considerably!

?However please note – with three of our Directors away on the tour, FEAST’s resources will be stretched between 6 – 16 May, so please bear with us in terms of response times, etc. We’d love to know how you feel about the new website – your profile pages, the new look, and features, and what else we could add to enhance it. Please take the survey which you can find at Website Survey Link– it’s open till the 15th May.

What is happening at FEAST? This question is relevant in that In Europe,& Middle East, we are some 1 Billion people in this part of the world whereas Asia is 5 times bigger than us in population size, diverse in culture and richer in stories. Thus, if you want to know what is happening in Asia, you've better to listen to their stories first.
