We are at the halfway mark how is the year going
Time seems to be moving as quick as ever and even though new years eve feels like it was two weeks ago we are actually at the halfway mark of the year. The pace of world events is increasing at all levels and the established world order is, to say the very least, in a state of flux.
So it is important, at the half way mark of the year to have a look at how you are tracking against the goals you set for yourself at the start of the year and ask these questions
- Have I achieved any goals
- Am I happy with the progress that I have achieved towards my goals
- Are my goals still relevant or have circumstances changed and do I need to set new ones
From my point of view I am pleased to say that I am still happy with the progress I am making but to achieve the goals I want to achieve this year there is still a long way to go so it is important to put in a big effort in the back half of the year so that I can get to December 31 and call this year a successful one.
If you have not set any goals for the year it goes without saying that you should set some as soon as you can. We are at the halfway point and time is running out. You are in charge of your destiny and you need to have a plan and your goals are the building blocks to your plan. As the American Writer Bill Copeland said " The trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend your life running up and down the field and never score"
Check in with your plan and your goals regularly and make adjustments as required. It is the only way to ensure that you keep moving forward .
The worst thing would be to get to the end of the year, listen to John Lennon sing " So this is Christmas and what have you done? " and have to answer nothing or I don't know.
