The Ticket Fund has been used to create bespoke comedy events in London and Sheffield and to fund ticket purchases across the UK
WeGotTickets have relaunched its campaign to raise money for the ‘Ticket Fund’ with Tickets for Good. In 2022 this scheme raised over £25k to bring the total to £40k since launching in 2021. The money is raised via an optional donation for users of WeGotTickets and has been used to fund ‘Full House’ comedy events exclusively for NHS staff at 21Soho in London and The Leadmill in Sheffield.?
21Soho has a well-established relationship with Tickets for Good and was an obvious candidate to host the NHS Full House events. On 17th March 2022, NHS staff were treated to an exclusive performance from Phil Wang fresh from recording his first Netflix special at the London Palladium with support from Elf Lyons, Eshaan Akbar, Jack Barry and Karen Hobbs. This event was preceded by another NHS Full House event at The Leadmill in Sheffield on 6th March with headliners Rob Rouse, Hayley Ellis, Pete Selwood and host Jonathan Mayor. This event was officially endorsed and supported by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Gail Smith.?
The final funded event of the year also at 21Soho featured Lou Sanders on 6th Dec. The Tickets for Good team were on hand to document the event.
?
Tickets for Good are hoping to raise even more in 2023 and their fundraising campaign with WeGotTickets was relaunched in March with cash earmarked for more bespoke events and to subsidise tickets across the UK. This unique model is aiding many people to attend otherwise inaccessible events.?
Steven Endersby - Marketing Manager for WeGotTickets said,
'Using our platform to support many good causes has been a huge success for WeGotTickets and we're extremely pleased to see the positive benefits that the Ticket Fund from TIckets for Good is producing. We share their passion for inclusion and community access to events and want to say a huge thank you to all our Ticket purchasers who have donated to this cause.'
Stephen Rimmer - CEO/Founder of Tickets For Good said,
‘We are hugely grateful to WeGotTIckets and the people who have donated to the Ticket Fund. I hope everyone gets a chance to watch the video from 21Soho that demonstrates just how impactful event attendance can be on mental well-being. The £40k raised has enabled countless people to visit events that would have otherwise been inaccessible. We look forward to creating more bespoke events and funding more extra tickets in 2023.?

NOTES TO EDITORS?
Tickets for Good initially launched the ‘Ticket Bank’ program in 2019 for charity partners, allowing venues, promoters and event organisers to upload free tickets for local charities and social groups. As the world adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, they began work on a new service that would allow for tickets to be pledged directly to NHS workers.?
The company now has over 190,000 registered users who have saved over £5million in face value fees with over 300,000 tickets processed.?
Partners included Digital Health London and NHS England & Improvement, which led to an immediate success with huge demand from NHS staff being matched by venues and promoters, who flocked to pledge tickets as soon as events could operate again.?
The platform now hosts a huge range of events including high-profile live sports, music, and theatre. Internationally acclaimed festival Tramlines has pledged tickets, as has? The Cambridge Club Festival which gave over 1000’s tickets to NHS staff in 2021 with an expanded programme in 2022 that has piloted giving tickets to key workers as well too.? Tickets for Good have also made progress in the world of sport including tickets for boxing, rugby football and more. Last year, over 800 NHS staff went to watch the London Lions basketball game in a partnership that has seen thousands of new supporters for the East London-based team.?
Theatre tickets are widely available on the platform with hotly demanded tickets for shows at renowned venues like The Old Vic and The National Theatre. On the music side, in addition to the many festival tickets, there are also plenty of live and electronic music gigs. A partnership with LWE (London Warehouse Events) has seen free tickets for huge dance music events at the Tobacco Dock and E1 amongst other venues.
As the UK events industry continues to recover, Tickets for Good are well placed to offer an ever-increasing number of tickets to an expanding user base, which now includes NHS students in addition to NHS staff and charity workers with a pilot focussing on people affected by the cost of living crisis on the way.
