We really were locked in a room for an hour, but it was the best hour ever!
One perk of being part of the AMA is that every week there's an opportunity to listen to valuable speakers. Each speaker comes with different backgrounds and concentrations. Some work on the creative side while others work on the analytic side. Every aspect of marketing is talked about with our weekly speakers.?
"Memorable, Sharable, and Makes a Difference"
Last week, we had speaker, Troy Dunn, president and COO of Dunn&Co present to us.?
Dunn shared some tips with us and how he has used them to build his successful company.?
One tip that stood out the most was the idea of Challenging the Audience.?
He shared a great story about how he and his team challenged their audience.
The island of Bonaire was in need of tourism, so they recruited Dunn&Co. To get media attention in hopes of attracting vacationers,?Mr. Dunn and his team came up with the idea to target billionaires. To grab the attention of?Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, and Richard Branson, his team placed billboards and other outdoor media in front of areas where these billionaires frequently visited. They utilized familiar?brandings like the Amazon Smile and Tesla’s font to catch the eyes of their targets while generating media buzz with their bold campaign.
His interesting stories really made a lasting impression on our members. He also did a deep dive into how his team?created these newsworthy advertising stunts!

As many of our members hope to get a job where they get to put together marketing and advertising strategies, this was incredibly helpful.
We also had Ben Golman speak to us about data!
Our AMA members were given the opportunity to take part in a three-day workshop on data usage in the marketing ecosystem hosted by?Goldman. He?is the founder of a new Venture Capitalist firm called Hifestus ventures.?Goldman is also on the senior team at Anteriad as the SVP of Business Development and Digital Partnerships.?Keep an eye out for his next two presentations!
