Are We Failing Our Future As A Society

We as a society are failing our youth and destroying their chance at a better future unless we change. We need to get back to our basic values. We have become so complacent in our living day to day we need to Trust in God and teach those values to our children. 60 years ago we didn't have the problems in society we have today. We had loaded weapons in our homes, from child to teenager we knew better to pick one up without a parents permission. We were taught to be respectful of adults, teachers, law enforcement, other people and their property. There will always be the exception to the rule. We can reduce those exceptions by example, as parents first and other adults those children will encounter in life.

We were taught manners; Yes Sir, Yes Ma'am, Thank you , You're welcome. We spent time together as families. Today families spend far more time apart doing their own thing. Our youth are led to believe entertainers and sports figures are heroes. I have been to our schools and heard first hand the disrespect paid to teachers. Being in a gang is glorified as they have power over people and make fast money. Now we have mixed families through divorce or a tragedy, the children don't respect the new parent in their life because they aren't their biological mother or father. They back talk, tell the adult, "I don't have to listen to you, you aren't my Momma or Daddy." Why? Lack of respect!

We are quick to blame everything or someone else the reason for our problems in society. Our youth aren't blind and stupid, they see and hear the news where respected members of society are exposed as lairs, cheaters, rapist and more. Large corporations cheating their customers with fake accounts and ripping of people while the heads of the companies get millions in bonuses even when they are fired for doing a bad job. Respect begins at home.

All around us are inanimate objects used as deadly weapons; fork, butter knife, baseball bat, brick, stick, hammer, screw driver, cars, trucks, planes and guns. All of these inanimate objects have been used to kill someone. However, a person had to picked it up or take control of a inanimate object to kill. I come from a generations where in the parking lot at schools there were loaded guns in the parking lot as a teacher or students went hunting after school or went target practicing. We didn't have mass shooting in schools. Yes there were bullies and they were dealt with, yes we had crime. We are building more prisons because we have more crime. Why? Lack of Respect!

We have people blaming someone else in society for their problems. They want to destroy our historical monuments and past, because they find them OFFENSIVE! You people need to get over yourself. Let's get something straight, racism is a word that is used way to frequently. Since the beginning of time there have been fights between people around the world over hunting grounds, food, water sources, land and so many other reasons to include greed. The victor would take members of their neighboring tribes as slaves. The ancient Asians did it, the ancient Europeans did it, Middle Easterners, tribes in Africa, South American tribes and North America Indians as well.

When Europeans entered the new world for freedom they did the same thing. They purchased slaves from the slave traders in North Africa who were blacks selling black slaves they had captured to be sent to the new world and sold or traded as a commodity to work room and board only, with no rights. Their own race sold them into slavery! It was happening around the world yet Caucasian Americans are chastised as demons because of the past. My God why don't everyone stop and take a breath. We can only shape the future if we learn from the past not destroy it. If we destroy our history we run the risk of future generations not know right from wrong. Because there is nothing to remind them what was wrong!

RACISM is an ugly word, we allow our children to listen to music with lyrics that disrespect women and glorify killing and drugs. What great examples we are setting for our children by allowing this trash to exist in our society. In the past 500+ years music songs were joyous, about Love or Lost Love or God! Now our youth listen to music advocating Hate, Rape and Killing. Why do we consistently allow this, LACK OF RESPECT FOR OURSELVES AND OUR CHILDREN.

We as a society should be setting better examples by being a better parent, neighbor, business person, teacher, sports figure, actor or actress by showing respect even when we disagree! No, I won't publish that trash talk, No, I won't produce that Trash Music, and No to doing the wrong things in life! Lead by example do the right thing. Why is it OK for a black person to use the N word, and it's not if a person of a different color uses it? Is it racism when the same race attacks the same race as they are separating them selves from their own race to attack them? In Miss America Contest every race is welcome to participate. Isn't it racist to have separate Miss America beauty pageant where only people of one race are allowed to enter.

Everyone STOP TAKE A BREATH PAST IS PAST! IT IS TIME TO BUILD A BETTER FUTURE WITH RESPECT FOR EVERYONE, NO MATTER WHAT RACE YOU ARE OR POLITICAL PARTY! RESPECT EVERYONE IF YOU WANT TO BE RESPECTED!
