The scale of the challenge the government is having to deal with is unprecedented and infeasibly huge. The speed they have to make such massive decisions beggars belief. If they (or anyone) took "enough" time to work out all the detail BEFORE speaking, there'd be an outcry of "we need information - we need decisions".
They ARE making decisions. Is it perfect? Of course not, it couldn't possibly be. It's easy to criticize. It's easy to point to gaps. In the meantime, those who need to make decisions and put systems in place have no choice but to carry on doing their best and be thick-skinned to negative comments.
Who'd choose to be in government right now?! Incredibly tough situation for a person to be in. Such massive responsibility. Millions depending on your capability.

What they need to work out is how the environment has changed, where the priority problems are now, and offer and deliver solutions for those.
All previous priorities, all problems & solutions that mattered to people before, all these have changed.
Creating and offering new solutions is necessary. Our ability to ADAPT will be what determines our future. There is a huge opportunity to step into leadership in this new environment.
An inspiring future is a choice that's available. It will be delivered by those most able and willing to adapt.

And that paragraph applies 100% to the self-employed too.
We have a choice ahead → take personal leadership to create a bright, inspiring, positive, rewarding future ... or wait for others to lead us to the future they have decided.
There are 3 factors that will determine our personal outcomes:
- mindset
- know-how
- creativity
If we've been growing and developing them, now is the time to combine them together and create a powerful force for effective change.
We, the entrepreneurs and the self-employed, are familiar with dealing with uncertainty. Much more familiar than salaried staff. We've been practising this for years. Now we have an opportunity to use these 3 factors together and create a strong future for ourselves, our families, our communities by doing so for our clients and customers.
Adapt and thrive. Or wait for other leaders to show us the way so we can follow.

4 年You are absolutely spot on! Mindset, know-how & creativity is a powerful combination. But I also think that audacity comes into the mix. Making fast decisions to take imperfect action is really important now. I have decided to take that route. I'm quaking in my boots but I am going to launch my new programme within a week now so that I am able to help more entrepreneurs faster. It's scary but I think it's going to be one of the best things I'll ever do.
