We don't disagree with this quote, but do we put it into practice?
As my kids grew, this movie has always been a family favorite. I have lost count, how many times we have watched it. Several years ago, one of my sons met actor Allan Ruck "Cameron Frye" it was like meeting Batman.
A couple of days ago my oldest son ( imdb.me/jakobdavies ) received his updated headshots. When I think of my kids regardless of their age, I still think of them as kids.
My oldest turned 18 a few months ago and just graduated from High School. While he is technically now an adult, this did not register with me. Perhaps this was the preoccupation of Covid19, its impact to our life and livelihood's.
Receiving these pictures, was somewhat startling and a wakeup. Yes Ferris, "Life moves pretty fast". With the world starting to open up, We need to complete his mantra, "If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it".
While we all may not be able to immediately close our laptops, grab those near and dear and head to the beach. I am suggesting we look to what we can do to take back the moments, we have all lost during the last year or so.
In the movie, many of Ferris Bueller's classmates believed he was seriously ill and wore "Save Ferris" t-shirts. I suggest we let the spirit of Ferriss Bueller save us .
Grab those who you love, get out there and make Ferris proud!!!

3 年Well done, Jason. I'm not sure there is a better analogy for what we're living through right now. This pandemic may have physically slowed us down for a short time, but everything else seems to have sped up and into the age of doing more with less - and faster! This cult classic gives us an important reminder to stop and take it all in, but also to look back and see how far we've gone.
