“We count on your work to enable us to do ours….”

The caption is a quote from a recent visitor to HFI Pyrotechnics, a serving Chief Warrant Officer with the Canadian Armed Forces who spoke to members of our team making C8 Smoke Grenades.

On a tour of duty in Afghanistan our visitor was responsible for the group that conducted casualty extractions after Improvised Explosive Device events and they "used a lot of HFI’s C8 Smoke Grenades".

He explained to our team, “Many Canadian and allied soldiers wounded during the conduct of combat operations in Afghanistan and other global operations have come to depend on your product in signaling the need to be removed from the battlefield by helicopter or in providing screening smoke to provide them protection from observation”.

Our visitor continued, “I’ve wondered if there are moments when the people who make these devices think about who uses them and where. You can rest assured…we appreciate what you do, your professionalism and your commitment to excellence matters. You may not realize that what you do is truly important, it is. It saves lives…our lives.”

We often thank serving members of the Armed Forces and veterans for their service, for we appreciate all they do for us and our Country. To be thanked in return is not only a high privilege but brings home to us the importance of what we do and the responsibility that our products carry. A big thank you to our visitor.
