Are We Connected or Disconnected?

Building real connections with others in the workplace has always been a challenge, and this has been magnified in recent times, with many of us pushed (or maybe we ran...) out of our offices and into remote work sites— often our own home offices, kitchens, or bedrooms.

Gone are the in-person water-cooler?discussions where new ideas were sparked and relationships built. In their place are end-less Zoom calls, decreased visibility, and if we're not paying attention - increased isolation.

And while we hope that the forces that pushed us out of our offices will soon abate, simply putting people back into their cubicles doesn’t mean that they will connect and build deep and lasting relationships again, assuming they had them to begin with. It takes much more than hope to fill in these ever-deepening relationship gaps.?

So, how can we, as leaders, and the people who work with and for us, build connections in these disconnected times??

We've made it a habit at SkyeTeam, to start every meeting with 'Ripples and Joys' - an opportunity to celebrate our successes and to applaud each other. You can?read more in my article.

Do add your comments and tips to help us all be better together!
