FIRST ! We are a CIS accredited school.

FIRST ! We are a CIS accredited school.

An historic occasion . . .

Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics Astana is proud to announce it has been awarded accreditation by the Council of International Schools (CIS), the first school to achieve this quality mark among the NIS family of schools offering the new Integrated Educational Programme.

Within CIS membership are schools that have achieved a mark of high quality and rigour - CIS International Accreditation. This recognition signifies that the school has completed a comprehensive self-study and international peer review as part of a continuous improvement process focusing on standards and indicators that promote the development of student knowledge, skills, attributes and actions aligned with the CIS Definition of Global Citizenship.

Colleges and universities worldwide acknowledge that a CIS Accredited School meets internationally-agreed and recognised standatds and develops global citizens with the qualities and skills that they are seeking in students. CIS International Accreditation is recognised by the National Association of Independent Schools (USA), and by many government and non-government agencies around the world.

For the past 12 months, the CIS accreditation process entailed an extensive and rigorous school self review process, which culminated in a week long visit from 10 - 16 September 2016 by a team of eleven international education professionals. The accreditation provides international recognition of the school’s high quality learning and teaching and its future commitment to strive for excellence.

In granting the award of accreditation, the school was commended for its site specific statement on mission and values, the strong commitment to creating a trilingual education programme within the framework of a carefully planned curriculum, the students’ enthusiasm and commitment to learning and appreciation of their teachers, the support from the area office, the caring atmosphere engendered by all members of staff, and the ways in which everyone has committed to creating a stimulating and attractive learning environment.

We are delighted with this recognition and congratulate everyone involved in this rigorous process.  Our school will continue to work in close partnership with CIS, and we look forward to a very exciting future for everyone in our community, all of whom contribute tirelessly to the school’s ongoing development.

John, I have all my degrees being noneducation degrees but have over 12 years teaching experience in International schools in Asia. Would NIS consider my application as a biology teacher even without a teaching degree?( I only have TESO as a teaching qualification ).
