'We Choose Truth Over Facts'

Yes, it was just another gaffe from Joe Biden, but it spoke volumes to me. TRUTH, as you are aware, is important to me. His intended words, as often quoted, were “truth over lies”, and yet he is being accused of lying repeatedly to the American people. The facts have shown that many of these claims are true.?

My intent is not to condemn Joe Biden or to try to either prove or dis-prove the lies. It is to point out how much TRUTH and facts are intertwined and to question if we do choose TRUTH over lies.

?Main street media has chosen to focus more on one side of the narrative over the other, limiting their reporting to only items in favor of Biden and to not cover items that might question his actions. It is up to each of us to decide if they are fair and balanced or not. Fairness and balance used to be the most critical feature of news reporting. We counted on this coverage to help keep our political leaders in line and honest. Recently the lack of coverage on one side of an issue or the other is intended, I believe, to create the narrative and direct how we respond.

?The case of the Hunter Biden laptop challenges this whole premise of TRUTH over Facts or lies.?A laptop computer that has now been proven to once have belonged to Hunter Biden, the President’s son, was discovered and its contents shared with both the FBI, the former President’s attorney, and media outlets. It was disputed as being genuine, even to the point that several former intelligent officials signed a letter stating their belief that it was “Russian disinformation”.?This letter was used in a debate between then candidate Biden and former President Trump shortly before the presidential election to help Bide counter information that was on the laptop. There has been some indication that it influenced the outcome of the election.

What parts of this story was the TRUTH, what parts contained facts, and which were the outright lies? We, the American people, have come to learn that the laptop was genuine, that the FBI had possession of the laptop and had analyzed its contents and determined it to be real prior to the presidential election, and that this information was withheld from us prior to the election.?There is still, however, many questions to be answered and many facts to be considered before reaching the entire TRUTH of this matter.?Two House committees continue to investigate the facts as well as a Special Prosecutor appointed by the Attorney General’s office.

To date there has been no specific legal action taken against Hunter Biden nor any other member of the Biden family, although several specific allegations have been made. There has also been confirmed information that Joe Biden lied when he said he did not know anything about Hunter's business dealings. He repeatedly denied ever talking to his son about such issues and yet there are photographs, visitor logs, and testimony that counters this.?

The most disturbing part of this entire matter is the absolute lack of unbiased and fair media reporting of all the facts discovered to date. Rather, there is a clear and concise effort to further cloud both the TRUTH and facts of the investigations to the point that it is very difficult to tell what is true and which are the lies.

Perhaps you are like I am, getting very tired of all the back-and-forth without any real resolution. This goes back through the allocations against Hillary Clinton, the allegations against Trump (and his impeachments), documents found at both Trump’s residence and several Biden locations (among those of others), indictments against several individuals, the special counsels appointed, and the House committees. I am tired of reported corruption, influence peddling, crooked business dealings, excessive payments for no experience, hidden payments, foreign influences, and the list goes on.?

But one must question how do politicians leave office with far more wealth than their salaries paid for their public service? Book deals and speaker fees cannot explain it all. Are there payments made for access, influence, and policy decisions? Do their terms in office, the contacts made, committees on which they served, and the knowledge they gained while in office justify the excessive salaries they are offered in the public sector once they leave office? What do “think tanks”, lobbying groups, University study groups, and other such organizations offer us as average citizens to warrant the large payments they receive when associated with a former official.
