Are we the children of God?

Are we the children of God?

Of course we are children of God and heirs of heaven. God is our Father; God is our Brother, and the holy divine spirit is our comforter. God is our parent by his creating power and by his adoption. God is also our brother and our champion by his triumph in battle. We are also children of our human parents. A child is the co-creation of a human body and a human soul. Two human beings and God together create a new human. Conception and birth are sacred activities. We are the result. We have a unparalleled dignity.

If you are follower of of Hinduism. Lord Shri Krishna said in Bhagwad Geeta :“Pithaamahasya jagatho , maathaa , dhaathaa , pithaamahaha , pavitra omkaaram , ruk , saama , yajur aevacha” This means : To this world (Jagat) God is the father (pita), God is the mother (maataa), God is the grand father (pithamaha), God is the sustainer (dhaathaa), meaning thereby that we are all children of one God. God was the one to create us because he loved us, and wanted us to have a chance to experience life in the first place.

In Christianity, they believe it because god is the one to create the universe, planets, stars, etc. And he is the one to create the first man and woman, and that is how we humans exist.Although science believes evolution and it's scientific explanation. In the bible it said god created the heavens and the earth, or something like that. And it is true, he did. Not only that but he also send Jesus, son of his, to go down to the earth to save our sins. Whereas Science says "Think about it. No coincidence can the universe just randomly appear, and be so complex like stars, animals, etc. Anything that complicated can’t just randomly appear."

Muslims believe that God is the creator of the universe and all the creatures in it. Praise be to Allah, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, Who appointeth the angels messengers having wings two, three and four. He multiplieth in creation what He will. Lo! Allah is Able to do all things.

Whereas most Buddhists do not believe in God. Although they respect and look up to the Buddha , they do not believe he was a god but they worship him as a form of respect. By doing this they show reverence and devotion to the Buddha and to bodhisattas. The basic doctrines of early Buddhism, which remain common to all Buddhism, include the four noble truths : existence is suffering (dukhka); suffering has a cause, namely craving and attachment (trishna); there is a cessation of suffering, which is nirvana; and there is a path to the cessation of suffering.

Of course this notion is not altogether restricted to Christianity (and as shown above, to a lesser extent, to other faiths like Judaism; the Hindus scriptures go even further, in fact, and say that each of us are God (or the Brahman, a.k.a. the Absolute Supreme Being). This is in the well-known words ???? ??????????? aham brahmāsmi “I am the Brahman”); and ?ankara takes explains it by saying ?????? ????? ?????????? ???? ???????? ????? (brahma satyam jagan mithyā jīvo brahmaiva nāparah) meaning “The Brahman is the only truth, this world is an illusion; and the individual is no different from the Brahman”. And in Buddhism too it is taken for granted that we all are Buddhas, we only have to wake up to the fact (the very word “Buddha” meaning “the awakened one”.) Cheers !
