Issue 68: We Can't Hear You! November: One Year Anniversary of the LinkedIn Profile Showcase!

It's hard to believe it's been only a year! I feel like the announcement of Creator Mode on LinkedIn was March or April of 2021 (a huge investment in Creator tools and services to help creators on the LinkedIn platform), but to my surprise, every time I flipped Creator Mode on, no newsletter feature. I knew LinkedIn had them instead of just an article you can create an ongoing series of articles as a newsletter and then connections can subscribe to your newsletter!

This week I went live doing some training and didn't realize we had started (silence isn't the worst thing, but with online training a few seconds feels like an eternity). Today the mute button or headset wasn't a fellow instructor's friend, so I took to screen share, typed in PowerPoint We Can't Hear You! and used Design Ideas (the loud cats that you can't hear were perfect to get the other presenters attention!)

I decided until I received the newsletter feature, it probably would be a good idea to decide 1) what my newsletter would be about and 2) how often I would publish it. The great thing about these is you aren't forced into a publish date and/or time (the second Wednesday of the month or every Monday) but you can publish as frequently as daily or choose weekly or monthly. For example the LinkedIn Creator Weekly newsletter should have 52 issues (because it's been a year), but I'm up to 67 issues!

I started posting articles about interesting LinkedIn #BackgroundPhotos since these really capture something about you, your personal brand, company or now causes/social justice/beliefs you support (plenty of built in choices!)

On November 2nd I got access! The LinkedIn Profile Showcase was born on that day. I had this all set for November 2nd (last Wednesday), but like my newsletter, it comes out when I have time, inspiration and people to showcase! This week I'm happy to showcase my fellow Microsoft Certified Trainer Michael Head.
