We can’t eat together, but we can eat together - A Virtual Gathering

Celebrating together has always been a part of what we do in TCS in Asia Pacific… Achievements, milestones, anniversaries, birthdays… Not just of our associates, but of their families as well. But since COVID-19 closed our borders, we had to get a little creative in how we stay engaged and interact with each other.

In the afternoon of June 20, the extended leadership team from Asia Pacific gathered for an online get together themed Fiesta En Casa, which means “Party in the House”. It was a casual no-work session to thank the team for their hard work in the first half of what is possibly one of the hardest years. It was an afternoon of many firsts…

1. The first time we ate together without being together (Via vouchers from food delivery apps)
2. The first time we got to experience the musical talents of our associates, like classical Mridhangam to a full family band to a saxophone solo, all performed on Teams.
3. The first time we got to celebrate all the June birthdays together, across 12 countries and spanning many decades in ages.
4. The first time we saw each other dressed in our retro costume best!

Through the entertainment, laughter and games, it was also a chance to reflect on the “new normal” that we are in. Technology has made all this possible… And I for one am excited to see the advances, improvements and innovations to come!
