Drink Trends September 2024
Cocktail lovers are raising the bar, and a toast, with a new drink trend this month. Creative breakfast cocktails combine the tastiest and most comforting ingredients from the most important meal of the day - think elevated juices, croissant garnishes, and spiked breakfast brews.
Brews have also been enhanced and reimagined through the rise of summer teas. Complementary flavours from matcha, berries, tropical fruits and carbonated mixers have all been used to make tea party-worthy creations this summer, sparked by Bridgerton fever.

Juice drinks have bucked the trend for slowed growth in their category.
While volume growth has been slow for fruit juices and smoothies, juice drinks have enjoyed value and volume sales growth and are tipped to grow further still.
This isn’t solely down to their typically lower pricepoints, but also the functional and hydration benefits juice drinks can offer, along with their broadening appeal.
Drinks brands can now accelerate this by following other drinks industry trends – creating functional juice drinks, investing in premium blended juice drinks, or targeting different customer types.

Coloured Drink Trends 2024
Eye-catching, elevated and experiential – brightly coloured drinks tick all the boxes for 2024 drink trends.
Soft and energising tones of peach – the official colour of the year – are being used across frappuccinos, sparkling waters and sodas, while blue drinks like retro sodas and kitsch cocktails evoke feelings of fun and irreverence. And 2023’s Barbie pink certainly hasn’t faded from view just yet, with different shades still being used to make brightly coloured milkshakes, mocktails and coffees.
In our latest blog, Coloured Drink Trends 2024, we look at the most popular colours to create and the types of drinks they suit.
Milkshake Flavour Trends 2024
Milkshakes have grown up. No longer just the preserve of children, shakes and flavoured milks are a popular choice for many, suiting different drink trends.
In the age of ‘little treat’ lifestyles, they offer shoppers affordable and tasty pick-me-ups. They can also create bases for decadent drinkable desserts to attract people back to dining out.
Creating options in ‘grown up’ flavours will hold the interest of adult drinkers, while better for you creations, whether through reduced sugar or added fortification, will appeal to families and the health-conscious alike.
In our Milkshake Flavour Trends 2024 report, we share the sweet, spicy and adult flavours perfect for milkshake syrups and flavoured milks.
