We Are Better Together!
As we celebrate Black History Month, this year, more than ever, the significance of equity for all has been spotlighted because of the COVID pandemic.??
Inequity has no place in society. The pandemic has made many of us realize that we must be much more intentional in our efforts to “right” the inequities throughout the world.??
The global business events community brings people together with the purpose of delivering human connections, removing barriers, and ultimately enriching our communities and our quality of life.?
While this one month is dedicated to Black history, we cannot and should not limit this recognition and celebration to a calendar month. Accomplishments, inclusion and equity should ALWAYS be recognized.??
As I have said on numerous occasions, if one part of society is left behind, we all hurt – we all eventually pay the price.??
Today, I feel hope and optimism rising as we work collectively to get our industries back, and we must continue to do the same for an inclusive society.??
PCMA will continue to recognize and promote industry trailblazers whose careers reflect a legacy of leadership, mentorship, and the courage to chart a course of inclusivity, equity, and diversity.??
We, as individuals, along with our communities and our organizations become stronger when we are inclusive and accepting of our differences.??Accountability starts with us.?Today, I am asking all of you, as we embrace Black History Month, to examine our own actions so that we may build a better society for all.??
