We Believe in Youth: Global Refugee Youth Consultations Final Report

Seldom consulted, frequently overlooked, and often unable to fully participate in decision making, the talents, energy, and potential of refugee youth remain largely untapped. 

The UNHCR, the WRC, and partners for the first time in history undertook the Global Refugee Youth Consultations (GRYC) with 1,267 young people participating in 56 national or sub-national consultations across 22 countries. I represented New Zealand at the GRYC in Geneva where I met inspirational youth from around the world and we all worked tirelessly to be the voice for all refugee youth globally.

Our report "We Believe in Youth" has launched and contains the most pressing challenges refugee youth face and our recommendations on how best to address these challenges. The report is a road map for action for all those engaged in humanitarian response—states, international organisations, international and national civil society organisations, donors, and youth groups.
