"We believe in freedom" ????/???? clip

"Together we will be strong and protect the freedoms we all cherish so much."

That's a quote from this moving clip that appears to be a British / Ukraine collaboration, presenting a united front to the world between these two non-EU entities.

My Commentary

If we understood what real freedom is, we wouldn't be experiencing the current chaotic conditions. We all like the thought of freedom, but don't want to do what's necessary to attain it.

Pleasure and Pain

We always have two choices - we can snap out of our daydream, become active participants in this transition we're going through, and find ourselves on the path of pleasure. Or we can remain blissfully ignorant, not do anything to change how we treat others, and remain on the path of pain.

The universe has always provided us with these two paths: pleasure and pain.. And since this is really the case, then we have no free choice whatsoever. There's a force pulling us toward any passing pleasure and away from painful circumstances.

We think we call the shots in our lives but even when it comes to determining the kind of pleasure we want, which we think is based completely on our own free choice, we're actually following the will of others, as they want. So when we do things like sitting, dressing, speaking and eating, it's not because we want to sit that way, talk that way, dress that way or eat that way. It's because others want us to sit, dress, talk, and eat that way. We're all simply following the desire of society, rather than exercising our own free will.

We do all these things, even against our will at times, because it makes our life simpler. But we should understand the price involved. That all our movements, tastes and manners are enslaved to others making up the human society.

If this is really the case, can someone please explain to me where we are truly free?
