Kangaroo Island's new visitor centre opens
The rebuilt Flinders Chase National Park Visitor Centre has opened on Kangaroo Island's west coast, replacing the Rocky River centre that was destroyed in the 2019/20 bushfires.
The $19.5 million complex, run by the National Parks and Wildlife Service, was built with bushfire-resistant Australian timber and includes a range of facilities for tourists to enjoy. The development complements other recent infrastructure upgrades on the island, such as the Kelly Hill Caves enhancement and the construction of new boardwalks at Remarkable Rocks.
