WE ARE.....Minutemen-UNITED!!
Since the death of our father Emanuel M Lapp ten years ago and the premature death of my dear friend and brother from another mother Matthew H Steller back in 2015....Geoff Lapp (my twin brother) and I have been preparing for this moment. In November, 2015 I released my first book "Shunning To Shining....An Amish Family's Dark Journey Into Light" in honor of our grandfather Christ Lapp, Jr and our dad Manny Lapp. These two men along with a handful of others have helped to shape us into the men of God that we are today. Marching forward into our milestone 50th Birthday on 02/26/2020, we wanted to honor our Heavenly Father by establishing a new movement to connect community to a UNITED network equipped to support one another in love.
Therefore, Minutemen-UNITED....was born on Leap Day February 29, 2020!!
Minutemen-UNITED is based on Benjamin Franklin's "Junto" Club started in 1727. Franklin organized a group of friends to provide structured form of mutual improvement. The group initially composed of twelve members, called itself the Junto (from the Spanish word that means together). The members of the Junto were drawn from diverse occupations and backgrounds, but they all shared a spirit of inquiry and a desire to improve themselves, their community, and to help others.
WE ARE... two men who desire to honor God and believe that He has called us to walk alongside others and serve their needs.
WE ARE... seeking the first 24 individuals from our network of personal and professional friends to join us in a grassroots movement to turn 26 into 52, 52 into 104, and so on. Our hope is to have the core group of twenty-six by June 14th, 2020 (Flag Day) and the next twenty-six be on board by February 26th, 2021 to successfully complete our mission for the first year of "active duty".
WE BELIEVE... that by Gathering intentionally, Living gratefully, Engaging generously, & Encouraging creatively, we will most effectively UNITE others to THE Way, Truth, & Life.
WE HOPE.... you UNITE with us in prayer and mobilization or as one of the first 26 as we seek to be there for others in a moments notice.
