How was your Month of March?

We started March with a focus on Artificial Intelligence a topic that many People Professionals are intrigued and often nervous to embrace this new technology and utilise it to our benefit. Many people have the illusion that AI will be taking over their jobs!

We understand the evolving landscape of work and how automation can seep into various facets of our professional lives. So, we posed the question: How does Artificial Intelligence truly work? And we were glad to have Angela Moyle (HRIS Partner - HR Ninjas) as our guest speaker to share her knowledge and expertise on this topic.


Here are some key takeaways that left us buzzing with ideas:

  • AI Impact and Applications: AI, prevalent in daily life, offers both positive (healthcare predictions, learning tools) and negative (content generation, ethical concerns) aspects.
  • Understanding AI Terminology: HR professionals should grasp AI terms like Machine Learning and Deep Learning, with Transformer Architecture enabling large-scale information processing.
  • Significance of AI in HR: Advanced AI models like ChatGPT aid in automating tasks (FAQs, reports), enhancing content creation, and enabling data-driven decision-making.
  • AI Tools for HR: Tools like ChatGPT (versions 3.5 and 4) and Synthesia offer capabilities in question answering, content generation, and creating training materials.
  • Considerations and Challenges: HR professionals must prioritise data security (GDPR compliance), ensure AI model accuracy, and maintain a balance between AI and human judgement.
  • Implementation Strategies: Options for integrating AI include assessing existing vendors, utilising specialised AI tools, or deploying in-house solutions.

In summary, presentation highlighted AI's potential in HR while emphasising responsible implementation and the preservation of the human element in decision-making.
