We All in (Therapy) Together

The year is 2006. Bush is president. The Steelers are Super Bowl champions. Paris Hilton got a DUI. What is a seven-year-old doing, you might ask? Sitting on the couch, unknowingly watching the opening moments of a multi-billion-dollar franchise unfold on my living room TV.
Say what you want about High School Musical, but it was a cultural reset. You might be wondering: Emily, you’ve been extremely (annoyingly) open about your life in these blogs so far, are you really just going to analyze the High School Musical franchise? Have no fear, reader because here is it: 2006 is also the first year I started going to therapy.
