WE ARE ALL IN THIS SH.T TOGETHER

Supposedly we left the EU to ‘take back control’ or so we were led to believe.? ‘WE’ meaning the people of this country not just the slimy politicians who lied and led so many down a rabbit hole.

Yet, what we’ve been seeing and reading about some three years in to this chaos, is that external investment resulted in ‘the people’s’ lack of control, highlighted in stark reality by the current, shameful Thames Water disaster, where taxpayers money has been paid in huge Dividends to offshore investors, leaving the UK people with a broken system, polluted rivers and seas, that surround the whole country and a complete lack of investment in the infrastructure, which was the reason given to us by Margaret Thatcher for doing this in the first place.

The British people deserve better than this sh.t, whether those who have allowed and enabled this to happen realise it or not.

A current disaster that revolves around the actions of BOEING with passengers being at risk when a door flew off after take-off, taking a passengers shoes with it also has the same SH.T written all over it. That they put MONEY up front and centre, has to be the worst ever example of how not to do business and increases the shame that falls on the heads of those complicit in the damage done to employees now and then as well as in some cases, wiping out suppliers and their reputation.

This goes far beyond those employees and suppliers, the ripples will also have impacted on their families and communities from which these organisations operate.? It must also have affected the very experienced employees they got rid of in their greedy cost cutting.

Any high ranking employee involved in this and/or similar scandals, needs to be named and shamed and should be barred from any such position going forward.

At a seminar some years ago in the UK the then Head of Development at an Aerospace organisation proudly showed a slide saying that ‘these are our Innovators’.? I emailed him afterwards asking why he hadn’t included his Engineers and Technicians on the slide, needless to say it did not elicit a response.

A few months later they lost a big contract and fired 200 Engineers in a cost cutting exercise.? Six months and a new contract later they were scrabbling across the World seeking Engineers!?? This at a time when Engineers were in very short supply.? Nothing has changed in 2024!? SAME SH.T just a few years later.

There is a lot of talk about ‘Business Investment’.? What ordinary people may fail to realise until it is too late is that the ‘

’ isn’t in them, it is for the Investors or Shareholders.? As the Boeing employees found out, they were just collateral damage from the deliberate strategy to make more MONEY for the few, not the many.

As the people and as employees we need to challenge Business per se and to an extent this is/has already happened because of the Pandemic that resulted in so many businesses now ‘suffering’ from the many unfilled vacancies or employees on sick leave because of their mental health, all brought on by how they were treated by greedy owners, supposed leaders.

This has been going on for years under the radar, but now brought to the surface, as more Media reports highlight the injustices.?

As now known, true business investment would have meant that employees would have had steadily rising pay, earned by their elevating level of skills and experience from in-house training and development, increasing commitment to their role.? The quality they brought to the work they did, together with the right strategy, if it had been in place, would have increased turnover, profitability, sustainability and most importantly the productivity of the business.

Instead, they hollowed out the expertise and quality that had taken years to embed, that had contributed to their well-earned reputation and status in their sector, all for the sake of PROFIT for themselves and to hell with their faithful employees and customers.

Why did this happen? How did this happen?

They have been allowed to get away with it because of “an unusual lack of pressure on British Managers (and USA Managers), from above - engaged owners - or below - from empowered workers, to a lack of focus on Long Term Growth.? Yet when investment does happen, the returns are worthwhile… Congruent to this is the fact that ownership of British firms has become more remote – foreign ownership rising from 10% in 1990 to over 55% in 2020.? The UK also has a lack of ‘owner voice’ that’s matched by a lack of ‘worker voice’…? The British people deserve better than this sh.t.

Currently there are talks about a ‘war’ period on the horizon.? Do we have a plan to prepare for such events? ?NO – just like there was no plan for a Pandemic and we all know what the result of that was!?

The only solution put forward in desperation by the current PM is to ‘compel by law’ all 18 year olds (including the children of Royalty) to complete a community programme over a 12-month period, or enrol in a year-long military training scheme, if he is re-elected.

Such an election finally takes place tomorrow the 4th July 2024 in the UK – yet what are the choices the people have?? None… as nothing has yet been heard that gives any HOPE at all of a decent future for our children and grandchildren.? The ‘Press’ if we can call them that, are too busy with gossip and silly headlines that do not to a jot for the public’s peace of mind nor inspiration for a better future.

If a war or two should be started/ignited, how on earth will the country’s manufacturing businesses be able to swiftly change to make the weapons and munitions needed?? Businesses in general have demonstrated that they don’t know how to treat their employees properly now and if their current ones are called up to ‘serve their country’ who will be doing the making of the weapons and munitions??

The only ones left will be the managers, who long ago had their Intellect disconnected from their hands when they became the ‘thinkers’ and the workers ‘the doers’, so with no-one to ‘do their bidding’ how will those weapons and munitions be made?? Will they step up to the plate?

Because of the complete lack of care of the whole population of the UK, its high levels of inequality, the shock of the Pandemic, the shameful loss of so many people in Care Homes, who died unnecessarily because of the actions of the Minister for Health, together with the disgraceful actions of businesses that made employees redundant to save money so they could pay their replacements less and themselves more, and of the politicians who suggest that ‘people are being lazy’, etc. it is not easy to understand why we don’t have the people rising up in anger, as they did during Margaret Thatcher’s time over the Poll Tax.

To fight a war you need to have people fit enough to fight.

The only people in this country right now who are fit enough to do anything are – the Bankers, the Politicians (when they’re not drinking or partying), Business leaders, Private Landlords, Billionaires , second home owners etc.? The rest of the population have been down beaten and trodden on, sleeping on the streets because rents are too high, starving, trying to survive by going to food banks, unable to survive even when their annual income is ￡60,000, atrocious cost of living crisis – this, in no way is the country so many worked hard to help rebuild.

These are the stark facts – those people mentioned above are the only ones fit enough to fight in a war.? The rest of the population will be waiting to welcome you back, if/when you win the war.? If you are not lucky enough to survive the horrors, then you won’t be missed.

TOGETHER WE STAND – DIVIDED WE FALL

But of course you don’t believe in that, the sole purpose over the last 14 years has been to divide us all, this is the lasting legacy of this tory party.

Enough of the tory party. Enough of hierarchy, it has let itself down badly.? This country needs INCLUSION where it is everyone’s responsibility to share the load and the rewards equally.? Nothing less is acceptable for our young people in the UK in 2024.

From the chaos that this man-made world has become, now is the time that wisdom takes the stage, that voice being heard and acted upon, provided what we have to say makes sense.? No more Liz Truss’ whose sole contribution did more damage in 44 days than the Pandemic did in 2 years!? Nor women like Margaret Thatcher who was forced to operate from the masculine, as the first woman Party Leader to make her voice heard and many of whose policies such as the privatisation of OUR public services set us on this destructive market-led pathway to oblivion.

WE NEED NEW THINKING AND WE NEED IT NOW – WHY?

Because when any government of any colour in any country in this sad world ignores the plight of children, as this UK government has, then they have to lose the right to govern.?

The current Education System in England is a classic example of outdated thinking because it was designed by a Tory Politician with 1970s thinking to force children to squeeze through a rigid ‘one-size’ fits all framework that fails to take account of the fact that we don’t all begin from the same place.?

When this tory government came into power fourteen long years ago they renamed the then Department for Children, Schools and Families to Department for Education.? Erasing the human changed the focus and mind-set from real people to ‘power over’, the results of which has seen schools excluding children with SEND conditions that inflicts moral injury on them that can last a lifetime.

The strengths that these children have are exactly those so badly needed in so many businesses.? At the same time, the subjects being taught do not fulfil the needs of said businesses.?

Some 80% of prison inmates are people with SEND conditions who cannot read.? This costs the country a fortune that could be spent far more wisely.

This is NOT Victorian or even Dickensian Britain.? We are in the 21st Century and we have to move forward.? The time is NOW to do so.

From tomorrow onwards we need a new kind of Politics, one that is inclusive, that has concern for all of its people not just the privileged few and in which all the voices of all the people are listened to and catered for.
