We Are Blessed With Many Gifts
How do you keep your life simple and happy?
Everyone wants to live a simple & happy life, and no one wants to be miserable and feel inferior all of the time.
In reality, everyone can achieve their desired level of success and happiness. To do it, you don't need to be lucky or a rocket scientist.
If you look at all of the successful people in the world, including Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Lionel Messi, and others, you'll find that they all shared similar characteristics.
And all these great people come from different backgrounds. Some of them lived in poverty before they become famous; some of them are college dropouts and some of them have difficulties in learning.
However, despite all the challenges and difficulties, these successful people go on and produce outstanding results in life.
And guess what, if these people can do it, you can do it too. Living a happy and successful life is not all about driving a sports car or living in a big mansion. It is more about enlightenment from within.
“If an egg is broken by an outside force, life ends. If broken by an inside force, life begins. Great things always begin from the inside.”
Here are some powerful tips how to live a happy and successful life:
1, Avoid Negative Thoughts
Stop thinking only of bad things, get rid of your fears, and try to be an optimist.
Avoid negative topics for discussing. Don’t watch bad news on TV every evening. All this can make you depressed and make it difficult to learn how to have a happy life.
2, Find Your Meaning
Be sure of your uniqueness, and to do that, look internally and find your true calling. Only then will you find your place in this world.
3, Remove the clutter in your life.
Your life might be cluttered with what’s unnecessary, so to live simply and be happy, let go. Let go of people.
Who among the people you allowed in your life is actually making you unhappy and are consistently bringing you down?
Spot the toxic people in your life and let them go. You don’t need a lot of people in your life; you just need to get the right people on the bus.
In addition, also let go of the people who are really just passers-by in your life.
Sometimes, there are people who you thought are for keeps, but they just won’t stay.
Don’t take it against yourself. Accept the fact that they can only be with you for a while.
Treasure the memories you had together, and be appreciative of what you learned from them. Then, let go.
4, Smile
You tend to smile when you’re happy. But it’s actually a two-way street.
We smile because we’re happy, and smiling causes the brain to release dopamine, which makes us happier.
That doesn’t mean you have to go around with a fake smile plastered on your face all the time.
But the next time you find yourself feeling low, crack a smile and see what happens. Or try starting each morning by smiling at yourself in the mirror.
5, Do What You Love
If your passion is playing soccer, writing poems, or teaching children how to swim, make time to do it.
You'll find that when you're doing what you love, you're filled with joy.
How much better does that sound than forcing yourself do something you don't like?
6, Get Seven to Nine Hours of Sleep.
Getting enough sleep is critical to having a happy, productive day as the alternative can lead to reduced alertness and logic and general health issues such as obesity and a lesser ability to maintain healthy relationships.
Try taking a warm shower just before hitting the sheets, getting your phone out of sight, or trying the reverse psychology method.
If the insomnia still won’t quit, then try one of these other science-backed methods.
7, Focus on the positive.
To find long-term happiness, you need to retrain your brain from a negative mindset to a positive mindset.
Try these things: Spend one to two minutes looking for positives in your life.
Do this three times a day for 45 days, and your brain will start doing it automatically.
Choose a positive mantra for the day -- something you will repeat to yourself, such as “Today is beautiful” or “I feel grateful for all I have.” And when things go south, take a moment to try and see it from a positive light.
Never underestimate the importance of recognizing the silver linings in life.
8, Take a Relaxing Bath
Prepare a relaxing bath. You can even put in a few drops of essential oils, such as lavender or lemon.
A bath will relax you, as well as help you feel cleansed, which will make you feel much happier.
9, Live your life based on your standards, not the expectations of other people.
So you bought your new car. Did you make that purchase because you need or want a car, or because it is something people expect you to have?
For example, you have a high-paying job, so people expect you to have a fancy car and own properties.
But, what if you actually don’t want those things? Why will you let others dictate what you want? Other people will always have something to say, so it is pointless to satisfy them. Focus on yourself instead.
10, Exercise
Exercise isn’t just for your body. Regular exercise can help to reduce stress, feelings of anxiety, and symptoms of depression while boosting self-esteem and happiness.
Even a small amount of physical activity can make a difference. You don’t have to train for a triathlon or scale a cliff — unless that’s what makes you happy, of course.
11, Be More Self-Centred
Self-centred is different from being selfish. It is not being a narcissist and it is not all about you.
Self-centred is living life on your own terms without worrying too much about what other people think of you.
Extraordinary people don’t really care how others look at them. If you look at Steve Jobs, he lived a hippie lifestyle when he was young.
He went to work with his bare feet; he ate only vegetables and fruits as meals. Did he care what other people thought of him? Not at all.
In fact, successful people are self-centred. They live the way they want and they don’t think too much about how other people look at them.
12, Help Others
Sometimes after we've achieved our own personal goals, we still feel empty inside because we haven't made a meaningful contribution to someone else's life.
When we volunteer or help others, it feels good to just be of service to someone else.
The impact we make feels fulfilling and is a big potential source for our own happiness.
13, Celebrate little victories.
Life is full of ups and downs, but in between we have a lot of little victories that go unnoticed. Take a moment to celebrate these small wins.
Did you check off all the things on your to-do list that you’ve been procrastinating on?
Yay! Did you finally clear out a thousand emails that have been filling up your inbox? Woohoo! Take pleasure in these little achievements. They add up!
14, Limit the time you spend browsing the internet and social media.
In this way, the social media world won’t be able to dictate what you have to become and the internet won’t be able to dictate what you should do.
Sometimes, you might feel pressured to live up with the rest of the world.
As a result, you get unsatisfied with your life, and you can’t live simply.
Stay connected and updated using the internet and your social media accounts, but don’t let them steal you from the real world.
15, Read a Good Book
Whether you like the classics, mysteries, or fantasy stores, pick up a book that interests you and let yourself get lost in it for an hour or two.
You’ll be surprised how great it makes you feel.
