WE ALL NEED A JONATHAN IN OUR LIVES, THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE WHO WE TURN TO IN TIMES OF TROUBLE, TO HELP SEE US THROUGH!
The passage, ‘Jonathan…went to David in the woods and strengthened his hand in God’ (1 Samuel 23:16 NKJV), reminds those who feel lost in the woods and are afraid of taking that next crucial step that, Jonathan didn’t just go to David to encourage him to be strong because his Heavenly Father was coming to save him, he also reminded him of the need, after he might have been restored to his rightful place with God, to remember to help others. In other words, we should look for opportunities to strengthen those who have tired hands and encourage those who have weak knees. So let the knowledge that: 1) When God restores us, the need to reach out to others with His love, should be as natural to us as breathing; 2) In doing that, we prove the truth of the old adage: ‘In prosperity our friends know us, but in adversity we know our friends’; and 3) We all need a Jonathan in our lives, that special someone who we turn to in times of trouble, to help see us through; teach you, if you think you will ever need such a friend, to start today, to be one!FG. www.fgtalks.com
