We are all an experiential #race.
Our whole life is comprised of #experiences since our physical #birth to our #death. As an experiential race we strive for various experiences. Our continuous experiences drive our further need of experiences.
We either want an experience to continue, or want more of an experience or want no more of experiences, that we dislike or want a different experience.
Only a difference can be experienced.
Meaning if there is no difference in us and the experiencing situation we do not experience anything.
Example, initially when we jump into?a lake, river, swimming pools etc. we will experience the temperature of the water as it would most likely be different than our body temperature. When we swim in the same water, stay in it for a certain duration our body and the water attain at the same temperature and then we do not experience the water temperature.
All of us, experience through our #senses?- eyes (light), ears (sound), nose (smell), mouth/tongue (taste) and our skin (feel/touch). The experiences sensed through these bodily organs are then analyzed by our #mind.
Mind uses its true state to understand the difference between our true/ambient/steady state and the experience to actually experience the experience (difference). Mind also use its #memory to judge the current experience based on our past experiences. The more the difference between our basic state and the experience, the stronger the experience is.

Our mind decides if we like/dislike an experience. Experiences we truly desire are those that get us closer to our true state as they get us to happiness (our true state).
The entire GDPs and financial #development of the world currently depends on us wanting and needing, more and more experiences. The governments and corporates, strive to create environment to deliver us experiences on continuous basis.
How much is enough? How long should it continue?
Potentially, no one would ever want it to stop. We would want it to stop only when our negative experiences seem to be more than our positive experiences. Can we go beyond experiences? Can we be different from our experiences? Can we experience but not actually experience? Can we go through an experience without it actually creating an impression on us?
Our mind can learn to experience our true state (happiness / Anand) all the time, through practice of awareness and vairagya.
