We are all electricity

"WE ARE ALL ELECTRICITY". 

Sculptor: Rivelino | Site-specific intervention 

The work "We are all electricity" version 1 and version 2, this in the framework of the international celebration of electric cars race “Formula E” at the Miguel E. Abed racetrack, which will start today.

For the realization of version 1 of this artwork Rivelino takes several car parts and their use of fossil fuels as an anticipated archaeological testimony. With the ever-faster replacement of fossil fuel engines by electric ones, the work anticipates with a visual metaphor what the passage of time will make real; disuse will open the way to a new eco-technological time. 

This suspended totem is invaded at the same time by hundreds of vines and plants, leading the viewer to think of a reappropriation of nature over the obsolete.

This installation is located inside the racetrack at the access 2 and can be appreciated by all attendees easily (Dimensions: 20 m high by 3 m diameter, weight: 1800 kg, year: 2021).

Version 2 (Photo in Cover) of this work develops the site setting of a car cemetery located in front of the main entrance of the racetrack, thus reinforcing the idea of nature recovering space. This intervention is carried out on a car cemetery located at the foot of the road, in front of gate number 1 of the racetrack and will be open to the public from June 19 to 28 (Measures: 40 m long, year: 2021).
