We Adapt – We Grow

We Adapt – We Grow

We have all been fascinated by the mammoth creatures that once ruled the Earth- Dinosaurs. We know that they became extinct due to their inability to adapt to the climatic changes that were taking place in the Earth’s atmosphere.

Lately, I have been intrigued by the word “adaptation”. Today, the world is changing at a faster pace than ever. We all recognize that change is inevitable yet many of us are naturally resistant to it.

About 30 years ago, computers were a novelty. Some of us quickly adapted and computers became a necessity in professional and personal space. Lack of an urge to learn and resistance to change made many of us avoid computers for a long time. If today we compare the growth patterns, organizations which adapted to computing systems early on have grown in scale and efficiency.

We need to question ourselves. How swiftly do we adapt? When demonetization was announced, what did we do? Did we change our business models to cashless transactions or did we make a hue and cry about our Prime Minister being dictatorial and arrogant?

Eight months ago when GST was introduced as a single indirect tax in the country, did we adapt to the system and develop our processes to be compliant with the new law? Or did we keep whining about how GST is bad for the nation?

The Finance Industry, especially the banking systems are undergoing transition in terms of technology and compliance standards. These changes need to be ongoing as people will find new loopholes in technology and fresh changes will be required. Being rigid and unadaptive can cost us dearly.

I constantly urge all the employees and students of the Vishwakarma Group to foresee changes in their professions and careers and be ready to adapt. Learning to adapt is the key to success. So, if you wish to thrive get on the wings of change and adapt!
