Are we able to hire the future Einstein ?

Knowledge economy is taking precedence over the former world dominated by raw material manufacturing economy. Petroleum giants have been overtaken by new participants like Google or Facebook which did not exist 30 years ago. Tomorrow, a knowledge revolution in a field can lead to new dynamics at every moment. Are we capable of hiring talents who will spearhead it?


1905: A pivotal year in scientific history of mankind

In 1905 Einstein works as a technical expert at the Federal Institute of intellectual property for the city of Bern. He does not belong to an important scientific institution of his time. He is at the edge of the innovant ecosystem of his time, which he attended and with which he is in contact. It is in this context that he will publish the theory of special relativity, which will change our entire vision of the universe. If before 1905, no one was able to detect the brilliance of Albert Einstein, it finally developed and expressed itself.



Detect disruptive thinking by letting it express itself


The scientific world of that time was the forebear of our opened ecosystem of startups. Our peers already applied simple rules to develop knowledge:

  • opening and exchanges
  • share of information
  • critical analysis and questioning of realities of the time
  • autonomy and freedom of innovation

At Bern Patent office, Einstein did not belong to the innovant ecosystem of his time, but he interacted with it.

In knowledge economy, the company has to become by itself an opened ecosystem to create innovation.

History shows us that disruptive ideas, those which allow us to reinvent ourselves, to find totally innovating solutions, originate from the edge.
