How Does Google Analytics Work?

Google Analytics collects data from your website so you can analyse it in the future (for your site to capture this data, a tracking code needs to be added to the back end of your website).

So, when a user visits, this code places a cookie in their browser, allowing Google Analytics to collect data on their interactions. As the user navigates your site, Google Analytics tracks their actions, such as visited pages, time spent and even clicks on links or buttons. The collected data is then processed and organised by Google Analytics. The processed data is presented in user-friendly reports within the Google Analytics platform, which can give you excellent insights into what's working and what isn't!

Your new website is missing a very important feature – its name!

Your Domain name is the part of your web address that comes before ".co.uk" or ".com" and becomes your identity.

What do you need to remember when choosing a domain name?

Be Clear! Make it so potential customers understand what you do at a glance and reflect your business and its services e.g. www.webdesignandseocompany.co.uk See what we did there?

It's Great for Local SEO. Adding your location to your domain name can improve your visibility in local searches, so if you are trying to target locally – take this into account.

The Simpler, The Better! No hyphens, numbers, or cryptic acronyms. Remember, easy to spell equals easy to remember (and find!). Nobody wants to type www.supercalifragilisticexpialidociousplumbing.co.uk!

So, spend some time thinking about your domain name, because you don’t want to end up with a name you don’t particularly like.
