WD40: leverage what you have
Bryan Kramer

When you think about WD40 and business, many people may think about the iconic blue and yellow can with its signature squeaky sound when opened. In reality, however, there’s a lot we can learn from this simple lubricant that can help us in our endeavors.
Just like WD40 loosens tight fittings and makes even the most stubborn parts move, businesses need to be nimble and can readjust quickly to changing circumstances. It also needs to have an eye for uncovering opportunities and creating efficiencies in the most complex tasks. This is similar to how WD40 helps free up rusty components or unstick surfaces where normal methods fail.
A successful business requires structure and planning, too - qualities found in every WD40 can, each carefully designed to ensure safety and consistent results from each spray. The key here is understanding what you already have at your disposal as a business owner - existing resources, personnel, technical tools, and assets - that can be used to gain an advantage.
Next time you reach for that shiny yellow-and-blue can of WD40, remember it's not just about fixing a problem but looking at new ways of doing things and improving efficiency so you can get on with whatever comes next.
