Fla./Ala. Assoc. May Create ‘Captive Insurance Group’

The? Florida and Alabama RV Park and Campground Association ?(FRVCA) is exploring the feasibility of establishing its own captive insurance group to expand available insurance options and potentially enable the association’s members to break free from explosive commercial insurance rates across the Southeast.

Bobby Cornwell , the association’s president and CEO, announced the group insurance research effort during the opening session of the association’s annual Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Tradeshow, which took place May 15-17 at the Orlando Hilton, drawing a record crowd of nearly 450 attendees.

Outdoor Rec. Roundtable Hosts First Executive Forum

The? Outdoor Recreation Roundtable ?(ORR) hosted on May 8 the first-ever?National Outdoor Recreation Executive Forum?in the nation’s capital. The forum followed a meeting on Monday with key White House officials around the economic impact of the outdoor recreation industry on the U.S. economy, according to the ORR release.

ORR represents the interests of the recreation industry that contributes $1.1 trillion to the economy, supports five million American jobs, and comprises 2.2% of GDP, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Texas Jellystone is Opening ‘Massive’ Pools This Wkd.

Camp Jellystone - Franchisor of Jellystone Park? Camp-Resorts ?in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment has announced the?North Texas Jellystone Park?in Burleson is planning to open two new swimming pools over Memorial Day weekend, one of which will be among the largest swimming pools in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to a press release.

“Our new outdoor pool is nearly twice as big as an Olympic-size pool, and it has a swim-up smoothie bar,” said Marcie Purviance , who manages events, operations and marketing for the?North Texas Jellystone Park.

‘El Campo Lost Lagoon’ is Honored with TACO Award

El Campo Lost Lagoon RV Resort?in El Campo, Texas, has won the Park of the Year Award from the?Texas Association of Campground Owners?(TACO) in the large park category, according to a press release.

The five-year-old 255-site RV resort has one of the largest, if not the largest, swimming pools in the country. The resort also has a separate sports park with a floating climbing structure, called a Wibit, which is popular with children.
