OHI, CARVC Score ‘Big Win’ On Electrical Code Issue
Multiple North Carolina parks recently found themselves closed or unable to open due to electrical issues from upgrades required by the Deputy State Fire Marshal’s interpretation of the electric code. In response, the public affairs and advocacy teams at? OHI , formerly the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds, and the?Carolinas Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds?(CARVC) jumped in together to quickly find a solution, according to a press release.
On Tuesday (March 19), industry advocates representing OHI and CARVC attended the N.C. Building Code Council Public Hearing in Raleigh, N.C., to speak with officials regarding their interpretation of the National Electric Code 70 Article 551.71 (F) GFCI Protection as applied to RV pedestals. Together, the teams were successful in getting the case reconsidered with a unanimous vote from the building code council.

Ocean Lakes’ Polar Plunge Raises Money for Charity
A local Myrtle Beach, S.C., food bank was restocked after the holidays because 861 polar bear participants (guests), with ages ranging from grade schoolers to retirees, gathered on the beach at?Ocean Lakes Family Campground?to participate in the 23rd Annual Polar Bear Plunge, according to a press release.
The tradition started with just three individuals in 2000 and has grown to nearly 1,000 participants who have fun and help raise money for a local charity.
