Camper Experience is Key at Former Olympian’s Park
The private park industry is a hotbed of entrepreneurship, often attracting people who have spent decades in other careers.
The industry is attracting young, globetrotting entrepreneurs, too, including 38-year-old Garrett Weber-Gale , a two-time Olympic gold medalist who helped build and now co-owns and operates?Gather Campground?in Belton, Texas, one of the newest RV parks in the Lone Star State.
Nearly Two-Thirds of Campers Have Camped for Free
The Dyrt , an app for camping availability, photos and reviews, found that nearly two-thirds (65.8%) of campers reported camping for free at least once in 2023, nearly double the rate from 2019. These results were published recently in?The?Dyrt’s?2024 Camping Report presented by The All-New Toyota Tacoma.
In 2019, just over a third of campers (35.6%) said they camped for free at least one time during the year. That number bumped up slightly to 38.9% in 2020, then jumped to 47.5% in 2021 and 54.4% in 2022 before reaching 65.8% last year.
Developer Opens ‘Gulfport Luxury RV Resort’ in Miss.
Gulfport Luxury RV Resort in Gulfport, Miss., at the corner of Cowan Road and Highway 90 is now open for business after construction began in August 2023, according to?WLOX.
A large group gathered at the new resort on Tuesday (April 23) for a ribbon cutting to celebrate its grand opening.
The newly opened resort covers 14 acres of land. It features over a hundred RV pads, a clubhouse with a cafe and even a resort-style pool.
