WCMA Announces 2023 Award Winners

WCMA promotes professional & ethical local government management through an inclusive, collegial environment.
At its annual conference held June 21-23, 2023, the Wisconsin City/County Management Association (WCMA) awarded several members through its WCMA Awards Program. The Awards Program honors and acknowledges outstanding individual achievement in local government management.
Meritorious Service Award: Jay Shambeau
City Administrator, City of West Bend
The Meritorious Service Award is presented to a mid-career WCMA member in professional local government management.
Emerging Leader’s Award: Jennifer Keller
Village Administrator, Village of Jackson
The Emerging Leaders Award is presented to a WCMA member early in the professional local government management career. It is open to open to manager/administrators, assistants, department head members, and interns.
Two members received the Lifetime Achievement Award. This Award is presented to someone who is retired or retiring within the coming year and has had an exemplary career.
Lifetime Achievement Award: Shawn Murphy
City Administrator, City of Portage
Lifetime Achievement Award: Lowell Prange
City Administrator, City of Menomonie
The President’s Award is for any WCMA member who has made contributions above and beyond normal to the Association. This year, there were two awards given:
President’s Award for Service to the Association: Travis Coenen
Village Administrator, Village of Wrightstown
This award is given to a WCMA member with exemplary service to a WCMA committee, the executive board, or other significant contributions to WCMA and its Strategic Plan.
President’s Plaque In Appreciation: Sharon Eveland
2023-2024 WCMA President
