WCL Alumni - Want to See Hamilton in NYC?
Then please join us for the live auction at the 25th Annual Public Interest Auction on Thursday, March 29th, starting at 5:00 p.m. Two tickets to Hamilton are among the many great items to bid on. As you know, the auction is the pinnacle of the WCL Equal Justice Foundation's annual fundraising efforts for law students pursuing public interest internships over the summer. We are hoping to have a large EJF alumni turnout to help us celebrate the EJF Auction's 25th Anniversary-and sincerely hope that you will be able to join us.
Plan to celebrate with old friends and professors who share your passion for social justice, while bidding on our incredible auction items, such as: lunch and a tour of the Capital with Congressman (and former WCL professor) Jamie Raskin; a week-long vacation in Buena Vista, CO; and coffee with WCL alumna Judy Smith, the inspiration for ABC's Scandal. We also encourage you to use this 25th Anniversary as an opportunity to tour the new Tenley campus and meet Dean Camille Nelson. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door (cost includes two drink tickets). For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit the Auction webpage.
If you cannot make it to the auction in person, you can still support EJF by:
- Making an In-Kind Donation to the Auction: We always welcome in-kind donations as auction items. Examples of past in-kind donations we have received from alumni include sports memorabilia, event tickets, vacation deals and packages, and more. However, we encourage you to be creative. If you want to donate an item, please contact the Equal Justice Foundation Board members at [email protected].
- Donating to EJF Online: All contributions made will go directly towards EJF summer stipends just like the one you had, no overhead. You can donate online by clicking here and selecting "Equal Justice Foundation" from the menu.
Over the past twenty-five years, EJF has awarded hundreds of stipends to WCL students who sought valuable experiences in the public interest sector. EJF stipends do not just benefit the students who receive them; each stipend allows its recipient to help dozens of vulnerable and underprivileged clients. In the past, our students have fought alongside attorneys at the ACLU to protect essential civil rights and liberties, have helped rescue children from abuse and neglect, and have defended indigent clients against criminal charges. Please help us close the justice gap by supporting WCL students.
