I am Marc Tarrida Dalhuijsen. I live in Barcelona, and I am one of the founders of?Hands Off, Hands Off together with Ana Rivera, Craig Gandolf, and Jim Dowd. I’m a musician and entrepreneur, and I have been working on various wine projects for the last 15 years. This new venture with Hands Off is the most unique of all my ventures and has an enormous potential, which we are discovering every day.

Tell us a little bit about your business model and what you are working on right now

Hands Off is a brand of canned wines where we present wines from the most important wine regions in Europe, as well as organic, vegan, and minimal intervention wines. With a very modern and ground-breaking design and product image to attract new canned wines consumers as well as wine consumers in general.

?

Where is the can market at right now? Do you think you've arrived at a good time?

We believe that the canned wine market is still in its early stages compared to other markets, but we feel there is a lot of interest in this type of packaging. It is a product that has a lot of potential for growth.

?

Hands Off wines pays a lot of attention to design with the work of Ana Rivera as art director… What would you say is your brand’s biggest differential value?

A product like ours bases its strength both on the quality of its wines and on the power of the image it transmits. With?Ana Rivera's designs?we have been able to create a unique universe that differentiates us from other canned wine brands and gives us a distinctive personality.

?

What other private brands do you admire for their work?

I like what they are doing at?Djuce,?Underwood?or?The Uncommon, but there are also some local brands that are working very well like?Zeena?and?Canvi Wines.

?

You attended the WBWE for the first-time last year, what was your impression of the fair?

I really liked the atmosphere and the overall professionalism of the fair, very good wineries and products and many prestigious buyers. The talks and keynote speeches were also very interesting.

?

Would you recommend the fair to a small private wine label buyer?

Yes, there is a great variety of qualities, origins, varietals, etc... that can be found at the fair, and the most important thing: it is focused exclusively on bulk wine.

?

What is the most interesting thing you found at the WBWE?

We met a producer from Cuenca (Spain),?Bodegas Gardel, with whom we are currently working for three cans in our portfolio. We also found some very interesting things coming from France and South Africa. This year, I hope to discover new products from Italy and see what there is from the New World.

?

The new motto of the WBWE is “Where wine brands are born”. What does this suggest?

It suggests that it is the place to be to create a powerful wine brand.

?

Tell us about your plans with Hands Off. What are the next steps for the brand?

The next steps are to consolidate distribution and grow in the markets where we are currently working, such as Germany, the USA and China. Launch our range of French wines and open new markets such as the UK or Mexico. Plus, some surprises that we will reveal throughout the year.
