WAYS TO PREPARE FOR A TELEPHONE INTERVIEW
Your application was impeccable, you’ve caught a potential employer’s attention and now they want to get to know you better. You’ve landed a job interview … a phone interview.
Because they aren't face-to-face, telephone interviews might be perceived as less official. On the contrary, how well you do on the phone interview will most likely determine whether you are asked in for an interview or, in certain cases, offered the job.
?
Here’s few ways to prepare you for a telephone interview
1.????Find a quiet place to interview
Make sure everyone in your home is aware of the interview ahead of time, and remind them again shortly before the interview begins. Choose a quiet place away from the chaos and free from any background noise.
?
2.????Create a cheat sheet
Write down few key words and phrases that will remind you of the essential points while allowing you to remain genuine and spontaneous in your responses.
?
3.????Keep your phone fully charged
On the day of your interview, make sure your phone is fully charged and functional. Make a call to someone to ensure that your line is clear and that your phone is capable of receiving calls.
?
4.????Smile while on the phone – it makes you sound warmer and friendlier
Though your interviewer won’t be able to see your smile, they’ll be able to hear it. When smiling it’s bound to change your overall attitude, & reflect that positivity to your body, you’ll sit up straighter & listen better.?
