Ways to Manage Stress & Anxiety

We all need to work harder on NORMALIZING stress and anxiety!

EVERY person experiences some degree of stress because it motivates us. Productive stress helps us focus on goals, move forward & stay engaged.

However, it’s crucial to recognize when stress, anxiety, or worry begins to INTERFERE with daily tasks, well-being, relationships, or hobbies.

To manage overthinking, anxiety & stress effectively, try these great tips from Deborah Riegel:

?? LEARN YOUR LAUNCH SEQUENCE: Understand what triggers your stress by checking in with your body and brain. Recognize early signs of stress before they escalate & use techniques like changing your self-talk to avoid catastrophizing or ruminating.

?? CHOOSE THE RIGHT PERSON TO CONFIDE IN: Share your feelings with someone you REALLY trust AND who demonstrates emotional intelligence. They should offer empathy and support, rather than dismissive comments.

??FIND YOUR SUPPORT CIRCLE: Think of three people who would support you unconditionally. Consider what they might think if you didn’t ask for help. Doing so may help you overcome reluctance to discuss difficult issues and ask for help.

?? ALL LEADERS: Have individual conversations with each team member. Say something like, “I want you to consider me a safe person to share with. I’m here to support you & help you get through difficult times. I will keep what you tell me confidential”

?? ALL EMPLOYEES: Initiate a proactive conversation with your boss: “What should I do to get your attention on important matters if other methods haven’t worked?” Frame your requests as positive request rather than a complaint.

These are just a FEW of the great tips & other info, Deborah Riegel shared!
