In a time of perma-crisis, the coaching world is challenged to evaluate if our actions are creating the results, we think they are.

This week, George Warren , the host of our latest podcast series,?The Conscience of Coaching, ?speaks to Distinguished University Professor in Organizational Behaviour, Psychology, and Cognitive Science, Richard Boyatzis , about his research into the power of resonant relationships, compassion, and playfulness.

Richard's research has shown that coaching around goals only can constrain clients' consideration of alternatives. He suggests starting our coaching conversations by asking clients what the bigger vision for their life is. With a more holistic approach, we can help combat the excessive narcissism of our modern world and bring a brighter future for all.?

"Relationships are the context for everything we do."

“The need for deeper self-awareness, psychological flexibility, deep collaboration, curious conversations, and co-creation is growing."

In the July issue of our Coaching Perspectives Magazine, Julie Flower , Leadership Development and Behaviour Change Facilitator, wrote a fascinating article about her belief that learning from improv – unscripted, improvisational theatre and comedy – can help leaders and coaches thrive in uncertainty. She explained how combining coaching with improv impacts connection, relationships, learning and creative thinking. Further evidence that taking an integrative approach to coaching does work.

You can download her article here .

In our recent LinkedIn Live Conversation , you can also listen to Julie talk more about her technique.
