Ways to Alleviate Stress this April
Fitness for Mental Clarity ~ A Note From Trevor
Our bodies are capable of some incredible things. From allowing us to wake up daily, to bringing new life into the world. For all the hard work our bodies do for us every single day, it’s important to remember we, too, should work hard to care for our bodies and support our health.
One way we can support our bodies is through exercise. Did you know consistent exercise can aid in your mission towards better mental health? And I don’t mean 2 hours at the gym daily! As the weather warms up and the days get longer, simply adding a 10-15 minute walk to your routine can be an incredible stepping stone towards giving you the energy and focus you need to accomplish your goals. But why stop there? Here are 3 simple ways to care for your body starting this week.?
1.Take frequent breaks from office work. If you find yourself at a desk for most of the day, chances are your muscles are tightening up, and back pain is on the rise. Add a quick stand-up and stretch every 30 minutes to relieve that strict posture.
2. Make your way up the stairs. Does your workplace have elevators galore? Chances are that option is more enticing than taking the stairs. Add in a few elevator substitutes each week, and your body will appreciate the hard work.
3. Let your interests run wild. Try one new outdoor hobby. From gardening, kayaking, hiking, and beachside yoga. The possibilities are endless. Each option gets you outside and moving your body in a way that is exciting and enjoyable. When you love what you are doing, it won’t feel like exercise at all!
Exercising has many perks. All of which can better position you to take on the physical and mental challenges ahead. We are happy to help you along the way. If you are ready to start a new fitness journey, read our full article below.
