The way you feel will determine your performance.

It is nearly 10:00am and you are still checking your long list of emails. Phone doesn't stop ringing and by noon you are feeling tired already! Does this sound familiar to you? I am sure it does and it is normal to be honest if you don't know how to relax and enjoy what you are doing.

We spend one third of our lives at work, don't you think that you should be able to work based on your own terms? Considering that it serves the best interest for the company and yours. Learning how to relax and having fun while working is not hard. Many times we connect work to pain, suffering and boredom. Even if you are not excited about your current job. What will change if you are "suffering" or stressing every day? Either you must change your job or you could find ways to make your life better.

I will share with you a few tips on how you can make your work life simpler and more enjoyable.

Create a "Fun Timetable" based on your workload. Every day is different so maybe you need to readjust this daily. What do I mean by saying "Fun Timetable" . This timetable will allow you to relax, recharge, smile and go back to work with a smile on your face. For example.

09:00-11:00 Working, emails etc

11:00- 11:10 Listening to my favorite podcast, song, audiobook or eat your favorite snack or go for a quick jog even around the office! DO whatever makes you smile! Oh yeah, Remember to have a smile on your face. It is your whole 10 minutes of fun!

Stop seeing or talking about your work as a chore. Everyone has to work. Some people to support their dreams on the side, some people because they love their job, some others until they find something better and the list goes on. Be mindful and aware of why you are doing the specific job. If you have a reason then makes everything easier and less stressful. Remember that we are what we think and our life is an outcome of our thoughts. Focus on what you have and not on what you don't have.

Happy office! Create an inspiring environment wherever your office is. If you are at work - office then take with you a figurine if you like anime:) or marvel. Have flowers on your desk. When I was working in New York, I always had with me my fluffy pens with a sparkling pen case, my tiny bible and my sparkling notebook. Even if I was working at starbucks I would have had those items on the table. The way you feel will determine your performance. If you are working from home then create an office corner and have that corner your office space. So when you finish work you "close" that office.

No one else is responsible for your happiness but you. If you have issues at the office go and talk to your supervisor after you have analysed the situation with yourself. Don't allow others to influence your judgement. Sometimes those who consider to be our friends are not really interested for our betterment. Be aware of the "snakes" by having an open mind. Don't expect everything from other people. We can't change other's peoples behavior but we can control our reaction to their behavior.

Be kind. Although I have worked in kind of aggressive environments in my life especially when I was in Finance, I never betrayed my principles and when I had t betrayed my principles I left. Talk to people the way you want them to talk to you even when they are wrong. By being rude and mean you won't succeed anything. Probably you will make a person sad, ruined his/her day and go home crying. Why? You never know what battles people are fighting behind closed doors.

Lastly, do some stretching exercises during your break or 2 hours after your lunch . You won't need more than 10 minutes. I am sharing below some yoga poses and a link to health line I found interesting that article.
