THE WAY TO WIN AN ARGUMENT
Growing up in as a little girl in a small country town it was easy to notice that almost every home had a Bible. It was common to see a Bible on the coffee table or shelf. It was not hidden. As a matter of fact, it was usually opened to a certain passage.
Moving on to 30-40 years I have intentionally looked around the room upon entry to see if there was a Bible. Since Apps dominate our tech usage, many people use Bible Apps. However, there was and is something so special about the Bible in hardcopy.
While it is great we have the convenience of the Apps; nothing compares to holding the hard copy of the Bible. I suppose at some point the Apps will win out as the norm for reading, but for those of us who did not grow up in the world of Apps, we will hold on to the hard copy for now.
We who are the "Baby Boomers" will hold on to the most important Book in the world, The Bible.
I can remember ministers sitting around discussing and comparing scripture as they built a case for Christ. I can remember when people made the Word of God paramount in their everyday, waking, walking and talking lives. I remember when the Bible meant something in homes around the world. To have one meant everything!
Where is your Bible? Do you have a daily plan for reading the Bible? Do you have a Bible App on your phone? IF so, do you actually use it? Do you believe the Bible is the Word of God? What is your favorite version of the Bible?
As a Christian-Believer-Follower of Jesus Christ, I know the value of reading His Book every day. I read there are over 5000 promises in the Bible. What does that mean? It means God has placed His signature on certain blessings for each of us. The only way to know what those are is to read His Book.
When was the last time you tried to win an argument on intellect?
The intellectuals often have more questions than answers. Questions of who will be the next President? Who will win the contests or that promotion? The questions we have about life events can bring on stress, fear, and anxiety. Yet, we continue to be led like sheep to the slaughter.
Many people die while waiting for answers to life questions. They never discover that the answers they were seeking were hidden in plain sight. The works of Jesus did not leave us without answers.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God to provide each of us a guide or a spiritual GPS. We have answers written in the lines of the text recorded from Genesis to Revelations. Each of these books provides insight into God's plan for our lives.
Read what the Bible says in the first Psalms:
"What delight comes to the one who follows God’s ways! He won’t walk in step with the wicked, nor share the sinner’s way, nor be found sitting in the scorner’s seat. His pleasure and passion is remaining true to the Word of “I Am, meditating day and night in the true revelation of light. He will be standing firm like a flourishing tree planted by God’s design, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of his life. He is never dry, never fainting, ever blessed, ever prosperous." (Psalms 1:1-3) TPT
You are reading blessings as you read His Word. You will eliminate curses as you read His Word. You will turn your life around as you read His Word. Let's see the promise in Hebrews.
" For we have the living Word of God, which is full of energy, and it pierces more sharply than a two-edged sword. It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet! It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts." (Hebrews 4:12) TPT
Not only will the Word work from within, but it also works all around us. It is a 360 sword in every situation. When we read, speak and meditate on God's word it changes everything around us!
The Word of God will heal:
"He himself carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we would be dead to sin and live for righteousness. Our instant healing flowed from his wounding" (I Peter 2:14) TPT
"In doing this, Jesus fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: He put upon himself our weaknesses, and he carried away our diseases and made us well." (Matthew 8;17) TPT
“Jesus of Nazareth was anointed by God with the Holy Spirit and with great power. He did wonderful things for others and divinely healed all who were under the tyranny of the devil, for God had anointed him." (Acts 10:38)
The Word of God removes Fear:
"For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control." (IITimothy 2:7) TPT
It is easy to see the value in reading the Word every day. It is easy to know why the Word is the best investment you could ever make. Investing time, money and energy into everything and not investing in the Word is a waste of time. It is the Word that will outlive your business, outlive your relationships, outlive your network and your net worth.
Invest in the Bible and truly create a real legacy that time nor eternity can ever erase. This is the way to win every argument in your mind. This the way to shut down all of the racing thoughts. This is the only way to permanently erase the pain of a broken heart. This is the way to find peace that will last past a lifetime.
Reading and meditating on the Word of God is the way to heal your broken heart and transform your world! Read God's Book today!
