The Way It Was...
The dawn was rising behind the hundreds of spires when the rumbling sound of Soviet tanks disrupted the peacefully sleeping city. They said they came to liberate us. From liberty? That dawn our dreams died. Shirley Temple Black, who came to restore freedom to the country, had returned home in shock, and we left our homes emptyhanded and brokenhearted.
New York City was full of life in the 70s, diversity, culture, history and also turmoil. But all we wanted was freedom from political repression. In the midst of old buildings, exposing wooden skeletons, the glorious feeling of being in a paradise had trapped my mind. No more fear and pain.
So much intense emotional drama has happened under the rising dawn. So much love, joy and desperation have crossed our hearts, but none of these thrilling moments and emotions are described in the novel that was based on our lives. Nor are the songs we had grown up on mentioned. Songs that impacted consciousness of all society and that are also an essential part of history. Our true-life story relates to the lives of many others, and thus needs to be told before its last character departs this world.
Therefore, the filmmakers are asking investors to help us complete this epic production. Publicity of the novel and its movie adaptation will be greatly prosperous to return on investment. The principal photography will be held in a major European studio; casting in the U.S. and UK; post-production in New York.
